Jenna Baker, PhD
Founder & CEO
A broadly trained scientist with research across multiple disciplines, Jenna brings more than 20 years of life science experience in the academic, private, and government (NIH) sectors to Basin Genomics. By combining her background in computational and functional genomics with her leadership experience, she is helping Basin Genomics translate clinically relevant genomic signatures into advances in personalized clinical care.
Anne Shiflett, MBA
Co-Founder & Chief Business Officer
As the Chief Business Officer for Basin Genomics, Anne brings over 30 years of managerial, financial, and accounting experience to Basin Genomics, most recently as Vice President, Finance and Administration at Catalent Pharma (Paragon Bioservices) where she was instrumental in the sale of Paragon to Catalent in May 2019. She has expertise in leading the start-up and rapid growth of new and emerging companies.
Joe brings over 25 years of global healthcare experience in oncology, infectious disease, and respiratory therapeutic areas. He led the introduction for Merck of the first HPV vaccine, Gardasil, and was responsible for the formation of numerous global research, commercial, & manufacturing partnerships. He is recognized for his many successes commercializing technologies and building new product markets.
Head of Marketing
Piper has over 20 global healthcare experience in IVD and Immunohematology, holding various sales and marketing positions. As Head of Marketing, he has led the global commercialization of six analytical analyzers and 25 assays, focusing on infectious disease, oncology, and cardiac markers. Additionally, he has experience forming global commercial & manufacturing partnerships.
Kate is a senior at Boston University studying Neuroscience and Public Health. She is passionate about public health awareness and advocacy, and has been able to explore those interests in developing content for the Basin Genomics website. She is considering a career in medicine or public health, and has experience conducting lab research and collaborating with scientists.
Ally is a senior at Hamilton College studying English Literature. Next year she will write an honors thesis pursuing her passion for writing, research, and advocacy. Through her time with Basin Genomics, she has utilized these skills to enhance Basin’s network and social media presence. She hopes to continue working in the marketing industry after graduation.
Roger is a senior at CUNY Brooklyn College, NY, studying accounting. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in accounting to become a financial controller. Towards that effort, Roger has been introduced to tax preparation and equity and monthly accounting transactions in support of the financial reporting required by Basin Genomics.

Tom Sollecito, DMD
A highly accomplished oral medicine specialist, Tom serves as Chair of the Department of Oral Medicine and as a Professor of Oral Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He is also an Attending in Oral Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and a Clinical Associate at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Tom is a Fellow and Diplomate in Special Care in Dentistry and Diplomate in Oral Medicine, and is also a reviewer for various medical and dental journals. He has also been recently named President of the American Board of Oral Medicine. Dr. Sollecito completed his DMD degree program at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated with honors. Having authored numerous papers related to topics in Oral Medicine, Tom brings extensive knowledge of oral cancer to Basin Genomics.
Todd has over 30 years of experience as a successful entrepreneur, consultant, board member, advisor, and seasoned senior executive in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, devices, and diagnostics. He has built and led companies from the “earliest signal”—from development through full worldwide commercialization, including raising over $75M in capital and $5M in grant funding. Todd holds a BSME from Purdue University, MBA from Rider University, Master of Biotechnology from UPenn, and Master of Science in Engineering from UPenn School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Wharton School of Business.
Anna Giuliano, PhD
Dr. Giuliano is the Founding Director of the Center for Immunization and Infection Research in Cancer (CIIRC) at the Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute. As a world renown expert in cancer epidemiology, Anna’s work has contributed significantly to our understanding of HPV natural history, infection progression to disease, and HPV vaccine protection against multiple diseases in females and males. She was the PI of record of the international male HPV vaccine trial whose results led to FDA licensure of Gardasil for males in the US and regulatory approval in numerous other countries. She has been actively involved in cancer epidemiology and prevention studies conducted among diverse populations in the U.S. and abroad. She has authored over 400 publications and has been continuously funded by the NIH since 1990. Anna has received multiple awards in recognition of her work, including the American Cancer Society’s Clinical Research Professor Award for “Prevention of Infection-Related Cancers,” considered one of the agency’s most prestigious awards.
Lynn is the President and CEO of the American Sexual Health Association (ASHA) and the National Cervical Cancer Coalition. ASHA is America’s authority for sexual health information and has advocated on behalf of those at risk for sexually transmitted infections since 1914, offering medically accurate sexual health information, translating the latest scientific research for their audience, and advocating for widespread HPV vaccination and testing. In her role as the President and CEO, she works with experts from around the country in academia, the federal government, and corporate America. She also works closely with colleague organizations, such as the American Sexual Transmitted Diseases Association, the National Coalition of STD Directors, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Her passion and knowledge about sexual health and policy guidelines and her understanding of the patient perspective are helpful to the Basin Genomics team as we strive to keep patients’ needs central to the mission of the company.
Jason is a survivor of stage 4 HPV oral cancer. Having won this battle in 2015, he is on a mission to stop anyone else from having to go through the same experiences he endured. He is the founder of Superman HPV, dedicated to providing information on HPV-related cancers and resources for support. He serves on the executive board of the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance.
Jason gives frequent talks to promote the HPV vaccine, including speaking on Capitol Hill two years ago in the Congressional briefing to promote increasing HPV vaccination rates. Jason is also a successful businessman and is currently the Co-Founder & President of the Ashar Group.
Senior Strategy Advisor
David is a seasoned healthcare CEO with over 20 years of experience building and scaling innovative healthcare companies that have made significant contributions in areas such as the early detection of cancer and allergic disease, and which resulted in successful exits to strategic buyers. He is the former CEO of Armune BioScience (sold to Exact Sciences in 2017), which launched the only non-PSA blood test for detection of prostate cancer. He was also President of Phadia US/AB, an allergy and autoimmune diagnostics company, which sold to Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2011. He is the current President and CEO of ONL Therapeutics, a biotechnology company focused on therapeutics for retinal diseases. David holds an MBA from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from West Point. He was recognized with a Bronze Star for his role in combat operations in the Gulf War. With life-long expertise commercializing products for the life sciences, David has been a critical strategic advisor to the Basin leadership team.
Anna-Barbara Moscicki, MD
Dr. Moscicki is the Division Chief of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at UCLA. As a highly accomplished clinician and researcher with clinical expertise in reproductive healthcare, Anna-Barbara’s 35-year research career has focused on STD epidemiology, specifically HPV-related diseases. She was the PI of one of the longest running HPV studies (+25 years) and her work was highly influential in forming the new cervical cancer screening guidelines in the United States. Dr. Moscicki received her MD at Northwestern University, completed her residency at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, and her fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at UCSF. In addition, she completed a fellowship in STD epidemiology and a molecular virology fellowship at Stanford University as a Howard Hughes Fellow. Prior to coming to UCLA in 2015, Dr. Moscicki was on faculty at UCSF for 30 years. She is the Past President of American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and serves on committees for the WHO, NIH, and ACS.
